This flight mainly carries general cargo and e-commerce cargo. The route is operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The one-way flight is 10 hours long and there are three round-trip flights on Wednesdays, Thursdays and days every week.

Haikou Sydney is Hainan Airlines' second regular intercontinental cargo route in Hainan after Haikou Paris, and it is also the first regular intercontinental cargo route from Hainan to Australia. The Haikou Sydney route can transit the manufacturing products of Guangzhou Shenzhen and other big bay areas and the trade goods of Jiangsu Zhejiang Shanghai and other Yangtze River Delta areas to Australia via Hainan; Hainan local fruits and vegetables and other goods can also take the flight to realize cross ocean export; Australian milk powder, health care products and e-commerce goods can also enter China through Hainan, and can be transported to major cities through Hainan Airlines' domestic airline network. The route enriches the cargo transportation channels between China and Australia, and helps Hainan free trade port build an international logistics "air channel".

In order to ensure the safe operation of the first flight, Hainan Airlines, in strict accordance with the relevant requirements of national epidemic prevention, abides by the relevant provisions of Civil Aviation Administration on crew epidemic prevention, and provides epidemic prevention materials as required to strengthen protection.
