On May 26, a batch of fresh fruit cargoes from Jakarta to Shenzhen were transported by cold chain barge to the central cold storage area of Shenzhen International Cargo Terminal, marking the smooth operation of the cold storage of Shenzhen International Cargo Terminal after the upgrade and expansion. After the operation of the cold storage, the inbound and outbound cold storage of Shenzhen Airport will realize separate operation, greatly improving the cargo support capacity of the cold chain of Shenzhen Airport.

It is understood that the newly opened cold storage in the port has a total construction area of 1450 square meters, which is divided into food storage, fresh storage and medicine storage, with an internal volume of more than 2550 cubic meters. It can realize the constant temperature storage function from -20℃ to 25℃ according to the characteristics of different temperature control goods. Under the premise of meeting the epidemic prevention requirements, the cold storage can guarantee about 60 tons of cold chain goods at most once. The cold storage, which can guarantee 40 tons of cold chain goods before, will be changed to the exclusive storage for departure, thus realizing the separation of inbound and outbound cold chain goods. The one-time cold-chain cargo guarantee capacity of the International Cargo Terminal of Shenzhen Airport will be increased from 40 tons to 100 tons.

According to the relevant person in charge of the international cargo terminal of the airport, the central cold storage adopts an advanced remote monitoring system, which realizes the full coverage of real-time monitoring of all positions in the warehouse. Operators can view the whole dynamic process of goods from the apron to warehousing through the mobile terminal, so as to ensure that all links of each batch of cold chain goods can be monitored and traced. In addition, the cold storage is also equipped with advanced warehouse door control system, defrosting system, energy saving and consumption reduction system and security alarm system, which greatly improves the intelligent and transparent management of the cold storage. In terms of cold chain goods guarantee, the warehouse has 2 entry and exit lanes, 3 import ports, and 4 pick-up ports from the original one. In addition, the cold storage is also equipped with a professional purchase lifting platform and pick-up thermal insulation door seal. The goods pallets can be directly entered into the cold storage, effectively avoiding the secondary loss of temperatures-controlled goods in the loading and unloading process, and greatly improving the operation efficiency of cold chain goods.

In recent years, with the support of the Customs and other units, Shenzhen Airport has basically achieved full coverage of special cargo guarantee qualification and cross-border e-commerce business model, which has driven the rapid development of airport cargo business. In the first four months of this year, the cargo handling capacity of Shenzhen Airport reached 507,000 tons, up 36.3 percent year on year, ranking among the fastest in China. Especially for high value-added cold chain goods, the market demand is growing rapidly. From January to April this year, the imported fresh cold chain goods exceeded 5,000 tons, with a year-on-year growth of 190%. After the opening of the central cold storage, the storage conditions and support capacity of fresh cold chain goods will be greatly improved, and the construction of a high-level national airport logistics hub at Shenzhen Airport will be helped.
