Earlier in the day, Khalid Abdallah bellour, Deputy Minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, announced that the United Arab Emirates would reopen its land, sea and air borders and ports to Qatar from the 9th of this month, so as to resume its traffic links with Qatar.
On January 5 this year, Saudi foreign minister Faisal said that according to the "Euler declaration", Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Qatar agreed to resume comprehensive diplomatic relations. On January 7, foreign minister Anwar karkash of the United Arab Emirates said that the United Arab Emirates actively supports the "Euler declaration", and trade and transportation between the United Arab Emirates and Qatar are expected to resume within a week.
In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries announced to break diplomatic relations with Qatar on the grounds of "supporting terrorism" and "undermining regional security".
