    • Hong Kong international airport will handle 71.5 million passengers and 419,730 aircraft movements in 2019, the airport authority Hong Kong announced today. Compared with 2018, the airport's passenger traffic and aircraft movements decreased by 4.2% and 1.9% respectively, while the overall cargo volume decreased by 6.1% year-on-year to 4.8 million tonnes.

      She added: "looking ahead, we will continue to upgrade our airport facilities to deliver an even better airport experience. The terminal 1 extension will open in 2019 and the east concourse food court will be refurbished. The terminal 1 upgrading project will continue, including the enhancement of the boarding gate, and the extension of the skyline corridor and car park 4 will soon open. Hkia will continue to focus on providing customer-focused facilities to deliver a vibrant, world-class airport experience.
